A Moodle site for Horses

Well not exactly for horses themselves!  RI has in fact been contacted to develop a Moodle based VLE for the British Racing School (BRS).  This is a new development for the BRS and will allow their students to access the e-learning materials that RI developed for them last year over the internet.  It is intended that these materials will be the first of many to be hosted on-line via Moodle.  The project should be completed by the end of March 2010.

On-line safety for the care sector

RI has been asked to provide an e-learning package for carers working for the Linkage Community Trust.  The e-learning programme is being designed to help improve the awareness of the carers, in respect to the dangers associated with the use of the Internet and other forms of electronic communication.  The material should be available for piloting in March this year.  The materials are to be hosted on the Moodle site that RI established for Linkage last year.

Fresh Produce Standards - project completed

RI has recently completed the development of a new set of National Occupational Standards for the Fresh produce sector.  Patrick McDaniel, Managing Director of RI said "This has been a very rewarding piece of work.  We have had input from a huge variety of companies, representing all the component parts of the sector. The project has really benefited from the enthusiastic inputs that company representatives have made.  I am sure that these new standards will be a real asset providing an effective tool that will aid the development of those that work in the sector”.

Sustainability standards to be developed for Cogent
RI has been contracted by Cogent, the sector skills council for science based industries, to support the development of some new National Occupational Standards. It is anticipated that these standards will help to promote the future development of sustainability in the industries that fall within the Cogent footprint. These include the pharmaceutical, chemical, petroleum, polymer and nuclear industries.
